Plant Vascular Tissues

• Found in most plants, except mosses and allies
• Vessels responsible for the flow of material throughout a plant
-Xylem: Vessels that conduct the flow of water and dissolved minerals (non-living cells that later become part of the woody interior of some plants)
-Phloem: Vessels that conduct the flow of sugar (living tissue)
-Vascular Cambium: Tissue that serves as source of new layers of xylem and phloem

Some other terms:

Source: Where something's produced or originates from
Sink: Where something's stored or used
Girdling: killing a tree by damaging a ring around the trunk, which damages the living tissues just beneath the bark (see image below)
